Andrew Mishlove's "Storytelling and Allocution" Featured in NACDL
Andrew Mishlove’s article, Storytelling and Allocution: How to Be Persuasive at Sentencing, was featured as the cover story for the November 2022 edition of The Champion.
Andrew is grateful for the opportunity to share his expertise with other attorneys around the nation, providing them with his five rules for creating and implementing effective sentencing presentations – four aimed at defense counsel and one at the client.
As described in The Champion, “he writes that a persuasive sentencing presentation encompasses the client’s complete existence, which means it must address the aggravating factors and expose the mitigating factors in the context of an entire human life. How can defense counsel tell a story that puts the crime in context?”
As President and Dean of the National College for DUI Defense, Andrew believes it is essential to serve as an example and share his approach and techniques with others to benefit the accused.
