I first became interested in fighting drug cases early in my career. I had a case where my client had been charged with operating while intoxicated with a restricted controlled substance in his system. The level was incredibly low. And when I saw that piece of paper with that low test result, I had all of these questions. And I was shocked to find how little the defense bar had done at that point. So I dove in. I studied the science of THC and what I found was frightening. Sloppy work ridden with mistakes. Major errors. I consulted with experts in the field, individuals who had actually developed a technology to test marijuana in blood, and they helped me put together a great defense that I was able to take to trial and win the case for my client. My colleagues know that I am the go-to person for any questions that they may have with this type of law. I'm always willing to lend an ear and to help a younger attorney get up to speed on the science in this kind of law. These cases have a very special place in my heart.
